Dutch insurance

The European law requires owners of commercially used drones to have a liability insurance. In the Netherlands, there are severall insurances that have a liability cover for drones. Below you can find an estimate of the Dutch premium costs* made by the insurance advisor Gipon B.V.

  • Legal liability of € 1.000.000 = € 311,- per drone per year
  • Legal liability of € 2.500.000 = € 447,- per drone per year
  • Legal liability of € 5.000.000 = € 570,- per drone per year
The value of the drone:
  • € 0 - € 10.000 = 7.2 percent of the value of the drone.
  • > € 10.000 = The premium percentage will gradually decrease.
* Above mentioned tariffs are indications and can vary per drone.

Every liability insurance request will be reviewed separately. The Dutch premiums exclude the tax that is levied on insurances. For questions regarding the Dutch insurance, please contact our contact person at Gipon B.V.: Rutger Gipon +31(0)35 541 7171.
